Our Principles Of Care

  • We are committed to ensuring our team of careers are fully trained to ensure the continuity and delivery of second to none care.
  • We are committed to ensuring each person is responded to as an individual in their own right and not as a group and that his/her own unique personality, strengths, needs and perspectives are top priority.
  • We ensure that each individual’s rights are respected and not infringed and that our service users utilise their rights fully.
  • We ensure that service user’s choices are respected at all times and that they are given encouragement and support with their choices.
  • We ensure that services users privacy and dignity is respected at all times and that everyone is treated in a manner which safeguard privacy and dignity and which does not cause or have the potential to cause embarrassment, humiliation or cause personal/emotional discomfort.
  • We ensure that our service users are given access to sufficient and correct information to support them making choices.
  • We ensure that service users continue to maintain their independence, empowering them as individuals to be involved in the day to day activity within the home. Encouraging service users to learn new skills to increase independence, to only assist with the things the individuals find difficult to lesson the likelihood of an individual becoming unnecessarily dependant.
  • We ensure that consideration is shown to all individuals and to demonstrate through actions and attitudes that people are worthy of respect. That opinions, values and achievements are valued.
  • We ensure that the primary care values are met at all times: privacy, dignity, individuality, independence, confidentiality, right, empowerment, choice and fulfilment of client group.

Our History

Denestar limited was established in 2005. The business was set up to ensure a quality service was provided to elderly residents who are able to enjoy their life in residential care with dignity and respect. See more info in about us on the home page.

Trees Care Home in Pontefract, West Yorkshire was the first home purchased and we spent the first 12 months undergoing a massive refurbishment programme; all with the help, input and advice from our residents who were involved in choices of colours, fabrics, flooring, furniture and much much more.....they thoroughly enjoyed this process.

13 months after the purchase of Trees Care Home we purchased Willerfoss House and succeeded in the same achievements as at Trees. There was considerably more work required at Willerfoss as the exterior was in particular bad state of repair. Our residents love to spend time in the new gardens now they are complete and we have reinstated our annual garden party; where residents love to be involved in raising monies for the residents funds to enable them to enhance their quality of life even further; enjoying trips to local attractions and further afield.

Then in May 2008 we purchased Ivanhoe Care Home, with it's exisitng good reputation for good quality care, we can only continue to build upon this. Again, some considerable refurbishment was required - starting with the introduction of 11 ensuite rooms and reducing our double rooms to only 2 from 8.

At all of our homes we enjoy longevity of both staff and residents, many of our residents have lived in their selected home for over 10 years and low staff turnover ensures the continuity of excellent care.

All 3 homes follow a comprehensive Quality Assurance programme which measures the quality of our service. Each home has been awarded Investors In People (IIP) and each home is found to be complaint with the Regualtions of the Health and Socail Care Act at inspections by the Care Quality Commission - reports can be downloaded by checking the links on each homes information page.
